It started with a question. What happens to us when we die?

Like many people who find themselves drawn into the paranormal, Jim Martin’s journey began unexpectedly. One night, while watching an episode of Ghost Adventures, he found himself thinking, “I’d like to try that.” What began as simple curiosity quickly became something much deeper—a relentless search for answers to one of humanity’s oldest mysteries: What lies beyond this life? Fascinated by the possibilities of the afterlife and the unexplained, Jim began researching the paranormal world more than a decade ago. His curiosity soon turned into action.

His first step was joining a paranormal investigation team in Northern, California. Then came his first investigation at the historic Pardee House located in Oakland, Califirnia—and Jim was hooked. He immediately purchased a camcorder, his very first piece of paranormal investigation equipment, and set out to create a documentary that would capture the experiences he was encountering firsthand. That film would become a turning point, setting Jim on a path that would take him across the United States, into hundreds of investigations, and alongside some of the most recognized names in the paranormal field. But Jim’s passion wasn’t limited to investigating. He wanted to tell the stories.

To sharpen his filmmaking skills, Jim formally trained at the Bay Area Video Coalition in San Francisco, California, developing a strong understanding of the technical side of production and investigative equipment. His trusted Canon XF205 became one of his favorite tools as he continued documenting the strange, unexplained, and sometimes unforgettable experiences unfolding around him. The success of his documentary sparked a bigger vision. That vision became Spirit Realm Network.

Today, Spirit Realm Network has grown into a premier destination for live paranormal investigations, original series, and metaphysical programming—giving viewers an opportunity to experience the investigation alongside the people conducting it. For Jim, that connection is everything. At a time when traditional television networks have offered limited opportunities for paranormal researchers and creators, Spirit Realm Network has opened the door for investigators, researchers, and enthusiasts to share their work with an audience hungry for something beyond the ordinary. Jim’s mission is simple, but ambitious: create the most immersive paranormal live-streaming experience possible and invite viewers along for the journey. To make that happen, he has built a community of talented paranormal professionals who share the same passion for discovery, storytelling, and the unexplained.

After more than a decade of investigations, Jim is still chasing the questions that started it all. What is out there? What happens when we cross from this life into whatever comes next? And perhaps most importantly…What will we discover when we finally look beyond the veil? The investigation continues.
